With its position at the entrance to Tomorrowland, the area around the Astro Orbitor can become quite a chokepoint, and very congested. Though the rockets supposedly seat two people, those that are large or tall might want to ride by themselves. Wheelchair/ECV users should proceed through the regular queue, but must be able to transfer into the ride vehicle. The Astro Orbitor is often closed when it rains. Those with motion sickness or fear of heights should consider the advisability of riding. There is no height requirement, but young children must be accompanied by an adult. The ride itself is like Dumbo – without the elephant. It’s best to ride early while the line is still short. The queue is not shaded at all, and it can get quite hot in the sun. Once the rockets rise into the air and begin circling, use the joystick to raise or lower the rocket ship during the 90 second ride. Riders are secured by a safety strap type of belt.
